As an agent for positive change, Rev. (Mrs) Anwuli Ausbeth-Ajagu
believes in the reformation of the society. She has been involved
in various human development and humanitarian services.
She is the Founder of Youth and Gender Network (N.G.O), an
organisation committed to youth and gender education, development
and empowerment. She also doubles as the President of Divine
Heritage Gospel Ministry; a faith-based organisation committed
to positive impact. In an interview with Daily Sun, the motivational
speaker shed light on why more women are getting passionate
about working in God’s vineyard. Excerpts:
How did your journey begin as an evangelist?
In 1990, as an undergraduate of the University of Jos, I was
invited to an outreach programme. Out of boredom and curiosity,
I attended the programme and as the preacher progressed in
his message, I had a deep sense of conviction. An altar call
was made, I realized I was a sinner in need of mercy, and
I willingly surrendered my life to Jesus. That was step one.
Subsequently, my journey of spiritual growth, maturity and
serious processing began. In the course of serving God in
various capacities from my local church, to other ministries,
the call of God on my life took a deeper dimension requiring
greater responsibility.
What is your opinion about some men and women of God who are
abusing the gospel?
There are different forms of abuse. Some of them include physical
abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse, and spiritual abuse.
Let me start with spiritual abuse, this has to do with fake
persons and charlatans who parade themselves as servants of
God. Some of them are occultists, native doctors, or simply
desperados who are there for their evil and selfish personal
agendas. They manipulate and deceive people, especially the
gullible and ignorant.

For the youths, I advice them to arise, shine and stop making excuses for their excesses. They should have positive outlook to life, be willing to learn, develop themselves, shun corruption and vices, add value in their unique way, and see themselves
